Why You Are Where You Need To Be In Life

Trusting your life without a story

If I let go of who I am, I become, who I might be- Lao Tzu

Trust, a word repeatedly written in my journal this morning after meditating on the idea of allowing life to unfold without a story. While this might seem contradictory to my previous essays, I know I cannot step into my true power if I constantly move through life attached to a story.

Each of us experiences life through stories.

Every interaction and choice is a reflection of a narrative in our minds.

We may not always understand why we choose certain things over others or why we create stories that aren’t true. But everything is an act of creation in stories of color, movement, object, and sound. It’s how we evolve.

Leo Tolstoy, a Russian writer, regarded as one of the most prolific authors of all time, said A real work of art destroys, in the consciousness of the receiver, the separation between himself and the artist.”

Tolstoy knew that stories help us connect deeper with ourselves and others. What we think about ourselves becomes a parable for everything in our lives on both ends of the spectrum. For better and worst.
