The Writer’s Paradox: Freedom or Curse?

5 Hidden Lessons I Learned in 2023

Do you want a glimpse into the life of a writer? It’s freedom, sure, but it’s the kind of freedom that feels a lot like a curse.

Every day, you’re swimming in a sea of art that often seems pointless.

You end up craving someone to just tell you what to do, and hand you a checklist — it’s like a vacation from the endless decision-making, the existential dread of creating something from nothing.

When I first got into this game, my life was a series of routines. Mornings were for writing, then the gym, followed by hours in a coffee shop. That period was insane. In the coldest winter, a heart ripped out and trampled on — I was more a ghost than a man.

The weather? Just another character in the tragicomedy of my life.

Fast forward to today. I’m on the brink of finishing a children's book, hungry for freedom. Ah, the daily grind. It’s like being stuck on repeat, isn’t it?

Every day, the same questions, the same checklists.

It’s a relentless loop of monotony. Wake up, coffee, work, sleep, and repeat. It’s like we’re all extras in a bad sitcom, where the script never changes and the laugh track’s stuck on a loop.
