It’s like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.” Patrick Rothfuss

Can you remember a place in life when the time would fly by? You spent hours on anything you were interested in as if nothing else mattered in the world? You made decisions based on the most fun or exciting thing at that moment. Nothing had meaning if it wasn’t important to you.

This is the power of the story. And it’s what makes us unique.

Thousands of years ago, when the world had no distractions, we told each other stories to survive. Today, we tell stories through video; social media feeds, text messaging, and email. We aren’t doing it to survive; we are doing it because our addiction to stories is innate to who we are as humans.

Over the last few years, one question has come up frequently; people want to know how to tell their stories. They want to know how I did what I did and why I chose to share my story with the world. They think their voice and story don’t matter.
