Snowed In: The Single Dad Symphony
Lost In The Algorithms: Daily Odyssey #2
Today was supposed to be just another day at the air traffic control tower. But Mother Nature decided to rewrite the script, blanketing our world in a relentless snowstorm that turned everything a brilliant shade of white. So, work’s out, and I switched a day off for a snow day with my little one.
The day’s agenda?
Impromptu life lessons. First up, culinary adventures with Chef Dad and sous-chef mini-me. We’re whipping up omelets — a bit of eggshell here and there, but hey, it’s about the journey, not the perfect egg flip. Her laughter is a reminder of life’s simple joys.
Then comes the less glamorous part — cleanup. Who knew teaching responsibility could be a mix of soap suds and impromptu water fights? It’s strangely fulfilling.
Post-cleanup, our living room transforms into a karaoke stage. Here we are, belting out tunes, off-key but on-point with our enthusiasm. It’s a duet of giggles and offbeat rhythms, a perfect interlude to the day’s playlist.
In between, I sneak in moments with my manuscript on my trusty laptop a gateway to other worlds. Balancing writing with dad duties, now that’s a high-wire act. But these moments of creativity amidst the chaos are the solos in my daily symphony.
