No Pressure, No Diamonds
Friday Flow — The Wisdom Of Resistance
The hungry shadows feed on
the dawn of the day,
searching for something;
lost in the screen, I stay.These four walls keep closing
in on me, and it’s hard
to believe in what I cannot see.Silence lets me breathe,
and the beauty of my
vision sets me free.What I gain is greater than
any illusion in my mind,
the sense I am not enough
is a part of me I must find.
When we are working tirelessly in life, we will meet resistance. Words I wrote in my journal as parts of me felt washed away at sea without any beacon of light to guide me home.
Most of us adapt to withstand the storms of life while never really taking a step back to ask, what resistance wants from us. Over the last few years, I have come to know resistance as one of my greatest teachers in unlocking my true, power.
The famous philosopher Thomas Carlye said, “No pressure, no diamonds”.
He suggests that in small doses, resistance in life can inspire us to tap into our unlimited potential. But too much resistance in life can leave us stranded feeling like we have Nowhere To Go.
That’s why I write in the early hours of the morning.
