A few months after my divorce, I set out on a quest that would challenge all I thought to be true about human resiliency.

To give you a bit of context, I spent the majority of my life dedicated to mastering my body. I’ve pushed past extreme discomforts in the Marines and trained with some of the toughest around. I’ve competed in bodybuilding, powerlifting, and ran marathons. There was nothing I wasn’t willing to do to get an edge on life.

Yet, there was something missing- I never took time to connect my mind, body, and heart. When I got a divorce, I realized despite all of my adventures, I was in a heightened state of fear and anxiety that prevented me from connecting all three.

In a few short days, with random strangers, I was about to find out how to release that fear with the power of my breath.

In the mountains of Colorado, twenty humans lie face up about to defy gravity. Most of us anxious as to what comes next, our teachers are walking us through the protocols for Prema breathwork.

I heard about the power of the breath and how studies have shown that our ability to alter our breath can restore balance to the nervous system and help heal post-traumatic stress disorders. Our breath is essential to life. Most of us breathe in and out over 20,000 times a day.
