There is a war going in inside of me. Still holding on, fighting to accept realities unfolding, I went for a run to clear my head.

It’s getting cold here in New Hampshire, signifying the change of seasons. The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, “The only constant is change”. The brisk air and sounds of leaves crunching under my footsteps reminded me of the changes occurring not only in the environment but also in my mind, body, and heart.

I have come to accept this feeling of uncertainty. I have trained myself to see and realize my heart is the course of my well being, and if I allow myself to connect with it often, it will remind me of something greater than myself.

Fall is a gentle reminder to lean into the unknown. To let the parts of us we tend to push away and pretend do not exist. To feel the darkness dwelling in the shallow breaths and our closed-off hearts. To face the shadows we seek to run from. It is all here to help us embrace uncertainty and love change with a gentle submission. When we choose to do so, darkness can not grow because we are finally letting go of the life we've been forcing to unfold and…
