What it feels like to have the Corona Virus

6 Days Into The Corona Virus

I thought life couldn’t hit me with any more craziness. After two tough years, what more could life throw at me? It wasn’t a question of if, with a split household, but when the Corona Virus would find me. And it has. So here I am on a two-week quarantine with my five-year-old daughter. Today is the first morning I had a good night of full sleep without waking up, but this virus hit me hard in the early days.

As someone who takes care of his body, the onset of the virus started with exhaustion. I thought nothing of it because who isn’t exhausted after running around with a five-year-old for days. So I loaded up on Zinc, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C for the weekend and got tested. After battling a few nights of sweats, fevers, and chills, the test came back positive on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, I lost my taste, smell and had a sore throat with a mild cough while my energy was at an all-time low. Over the week, I kept my vitamin count high and rested as much as I could with a five-year-old running around. That’s a challenge on its own, but I am grateful she is healthy, and I am recovering.

Today is the first morning I woke up at 6 am, felt like writing, and getting back to things that keep me grounded. But overall, I have this sense of heaviness and a mental fog with fatigue that seems to be never-ending.
