Authors Note- While therapy didn’t save my marriage, it helped me see past the problems and get to the truth to accept my new life. Divorce has been one of the most challenging life changes I’ve ever had to experience, and if you can fight for love, I say fight hard.

I’ll never forget the day I called a therapist for the first time.

My ex-wife asked me for years in my relationship to get therapy and seek help for my anger and depression from the Marines. Like many stubborn men, I could never hear what she was saying and shrugged it off.

Of course, my stubbornness only went on for so long, until one day I found out she was leaving me and my so-called perfect life came crashing down.
