Nothing is certain — Friday Flow 8/6/21

I know one truth in life, nothing is certain. Every day is an unknown journey into an endless cycle of twists, turns, rock bottoms, and peaks. Even my words are no more than thoughts from my heart to help me feel more grounded during my unconscious battle to seek something that will never exist.

Despite this harsh truth, there is one thing I am sure of, my heart. It is the fabric of my every being and the essence of who I am as a man. My focus flows where my heart goes, and my dance with uncertainty changes based on my desire to breathe into those moments fully I want to run.

I’ve been thinking about this concept, starring at the empty screen for thirty-seven minutes, breathing into the moment.

Most of us shift our hearts from positive to negative as often as we breathe. We constantly strive for certainty in life. But the only thing that is ever certain is that time waits for no man.

If time is the only constant in our lives, we must choose to make our lives a never-ending story. One that creates words to support the truth of who we are. Not the story we think we need to be writing. Because the battles always begin in our minds and the words we choose to speak to ourselves.
